My New Years resolution
« on: Jan 01, 2019, 05:52 AM »
I promise to never change anything I do. I will not loose weight. I will not be nicer. I will not stop fishing.
What the heck I'm almost 66 why would I want to change now?

Sounds like I'm not the only one who feels this way.

New Year's Resolutions are for quitters.
The next time you think you know it all, try telling someone else's dog what to do.

How's this for a different resolution:

I don't resolve to NOT do something, or do something that goes against my general views and beliefs, but rather I resolve to do something, ANYTHING that I haven't done before. I don't make a plan for some elaborate scheme, some expensive goal that would probably be a waste of my time and money, but just "something" that's new to me.

What makes it so easy to do is simple...when you make a typical resolution you are starting the year off saying "I'm NOT going to do XXX" or "My goal is to stop XXX and lose XXX lbs." This means that at any point during the year you could fail.
By using my method I am setting myself up for something that will be a success, and I have ALL YEAR with which to do it!

I laugh when I hear people talking about their resolutions, and their inevitable failures, and laugh as I tell them that I had already succeeded in mine!
