  Spent many days trolling Lake Ontario in rough conditions, and after a while the carpet on the gunnels would rub away at you. My passengers would complain they were getting rugburn. The name stuck, to the boat and me.

I just went back through this thread and see I posted an explanation back in March of 2008. So for all who have joined the site since then guess it is time to post again. I've worked majority of my life as a custodian so when I signed up thought what would be easy for me to remember and that's how my screen name was born. Just for the curious I'm not bald and no earring either.
