I ride the short bus.

Seriously though, I'm a disabled Vet, and my name is Ed. The nick was given to me years ago after a buddy saw me trying to fish with my one good arm and it stuck.

Got the arm fixed a few years back, almost 100%, I still fish, so I'd like to think I am "special".

Years ago just before we first started using Motorola radio's to communicate on the ice, my friends would stop by and see what I was up to. They would ask me to go travel around the lake (partying) but I would say no and would rather keep fishing. They would say put out some tip ups so you can take a break as your always jiggin. I would say, your right, I am always jiggin....then the name stuck.

I cant stand to watch tip ups all day. You gotta move it, move it in order to go, go, get em!

JIGGIN.

Mine is for two reasons,
1) I LOVED Lindy's ice jigs called "Pounders" and then they stopped making them
2) I love seeing pound crappies and sunnies come up the hole!

If I'm not fishing or hunting right now, you can bet that I\'m thinking about it!

I used to keep a large reptile collection and I'd go to Pennsylvania every summer to catch rattlesnakes (live release ;D) and when I got into computer groups I thought Snakehunter would be pretty unique.
Don't keep many snakes anymore but I still hunt for them when I get the chance.

PS - Here in Kenora the locals call northern pike 'snakes' so my friends up here think I am nuts for pike ::)

I'm a cop. Or am I? Hmmmmmmm...  ;D

Actually...
My 1'st real trip on the ice about 9 years ago, I was introduced to a few guys who lived near the lake we were on. My now old friend Mike was one of them, and found out that some of his friends in their shanties were concerned that I was a cop (I get asked if I'm a cop or in the military on a regular basis.). So we played that tune.

No idea what was going on in those shanties to induce the panic, but Mike thought it would be a blast to walk around and introduce me to his friends as Trooper Bri.  :o We let them off the hook after an hour or so.

I fish with a DEP officer on occasion, have installed Whelan & other products in police vehicles, but i'm definitely not a cop.

Sometimes when I've been watching my tipups for awhile and need to see a FLAG I'll yell Come On Now to shake things up. Doesn't really work but it breaks up the boredom.

I noticed several unusual usernames . mine comes from another hobby I have, building things. I built a midevel seige machene several years ago and use it for tossing pumpkins and the like. I can throw a 10 lb boling ball 100 yards. the machene is called a trebuchet.

hee, you mean one of these?

My screen nae I got from another site. I use ehertzfeld "my name, Elon Hertzfeld" most of the time, but a guy decided to shorten it.

When I was growing up, there wasn't labels like ADD or ADHD. They used words like hyperactive or rowdy. It started as RowdyRay when I was maybe 8 or 9 and just Rowdy through my teens. There's a still a few places where I'll hear it hollered across the room.  ;D

Then we grow up, and grow.....Hey Look..... A SQUIRREL!!!!!!!
