Marcum dosent make one but there a good aftermarket ones out there just make sure they except video out, that is what they said hope it helps :tipup:

Skipper if IDI Gear (Arctic Armor) is at the show remember to ask them if they plan to make a jacket with a removable hood. So people with snowmobiles-ATVs can wear there helmets( a requirement by law in many areas.

IDI says that they do not make a removeable hood jacket and there is not one in the works. It appears that the hood is very compact and I think it could be tucked away and should not cause a problem. He also said that an alteration shop could remove the hood for $5 to $10.

I was just thinking of the thread you and I went back and forth on the features-problems with Arctic Armor. You were-are planing to buy an ice fishing suit. This was back in late October. You got a laugh out of my comment about liking Arctic Armor's two piece design as it was less colthing to remove if you had to release a brown crappie.

Wish I could. Today is my 1st day off since 10 Oct. The OT & DT has been nice. Last weeks check I had the same amount of $ I take home on a 40hr week taken out out what I made in taxes!!! Nothing like moving up a tax bracket or two! Spending some time with my baby girl. Wish I could do it one of these years! But seriously, thanks for asking our questions & representing the finest ice forum on the net!!!

Taxes in general suck. They would be worth paying if you actually felt you got something out of it. I gotta quit my job and go on welfare and get my money back, then I could afford to travel to your ice show.

I'm not 100% positive, but on the Clam site, they have Scout canvases on clearance if you just need a canvas...not sure about one with a D-Door though.. ???

See! Doen't second guess! Unless it's a regular item at regular price. I got a clam x suit for $99 this year from clam and the gloves for $40 at gander! I figured I saved so much on the suit I could pay full price on the gloves! Two days after I put in my order with clam they were out of the dicontinued suit. Funny thing is all the shops I have been to have the old suit on the shelf for $349.

Compare the Otter's new canopy to the Frabils canopy. Which one is more water proof after a years fishing and cold weather durable? Which sled is better durability wise?

So how many new members have you signed up ?
Swung by the booth and it was funny, they seemed more interested in keeping the chat on the site going than they were talking or engaging the people coming by the booth.
The expo was great. Lots of new portables. The pop-ups were the newest and biggest things. And frankly, at $139 for a 3 man pop up, it took all my restraint not to buy one. My current Frabill cost me around $300 new. I think I'd sell it in a minute to grab one of the new pop ups.
I also loved a new semi-swimming lure from Lindy called the "slick jig". What was cool about it is that it's weighted to use live bait off the back and when you give it a tug, it shoots out to the side and comes back to the middle. Not unique? Maybe, but it didn't act like an airplane jig or swimming jig. Way less heavy and complicated. I really liked them and plan to use them on 'eyes as soon as the lakes freeze here in MN. I wished that they came with a hint of glow, but I guess the action will bring in fish. I grabbed the last one in 3/8oz. size that they had. They were flying off the shelves of Lindy and Reeds. Something to look for this winter.
A big shout out to Frabill for handing out UL ice rods to the little ones at the show. "My First Frabill" rods were given out as kids passed by along with drop weights to some lucky adults. Some great deals on shacks and great ideas to get the glands salivating.

So I did buy a few things. I got a Stony Legacy rod case. Holds 8 rods and lots of gear.

Also a Lure Lighting light for my Vexilar. It takes the place of one of the knobs on the side to hold it on the pack and connects to the battery. A push of the button and the light is on until released. A little overkill for what I need, but a great add on.

I also got a Ram Mount for my GPS for the truck and 4wheeler, some Rapid Pole Slide Clips for the Yukon, and a Chubby darter in the new holographic pattern. All good stuff.
Also for a friend I picked up a set of Vexilar Cold Snap bibs, 2 jig rods. 2 rod holders, and a Bikini Ice Fishing calendar signed by the 2 girls at the booth.
I'd love to go back, but work and hunting calls. I work 12 hrs today and am taking a guy that is deploying to Iraq on a hunt on Sunday till Wednesday with the ML.

I was wondering if you could maybe ask Clam Corp about what they had in mind for seating in their Fish Trap shacks in the future? I bought the Guide series a few years ago that had the folding swivle seat that slid back and forth and loved it. I have been kinda dissapointed in their selection lately. Still love their shacks.

when it is in the down position just slide and it will lock when it is up just tap the button, you dont have to push with everthing you got like the old ones, looks like it works really slick 8)

I have yet to get in contact with him as I have had a busy fall. We acctually had guys show up to our event last year using Marmish rods and showed the system to others. I am curious if he would be interested in a donation to our Event again this year. I would like him to see the way we are giving out prizes this year. They are an awsome system and had I not spent 6mo layed off this year I know I would have a few in my arsinal.

I just wanted to say my son and I had a great time at the show yesterday and it was nice talking to you Skipper, keep up the good work promoting this great site. I have a suggestion the shows organizer should have a fenced in area outside the building so it would be possible to start up augers. I do not own a gas power auger but assume they operate similar to a snow blower ,you can start the engine but not engage the actual drill until depressing /pulling a switch of some type.
Keep up the good work and do not forget to do a little brosing/shopping of your own.

Good job guys! It's been fun reading along with you guys during the show. Hopefully I'll be able to find the time to get to syracuse for the NY show. Next year you should think of transmitting live from the show with skype or something with interviews from the sponsors asking questions from members in real time or show some of the demos. Publicity like that I'm sure would impress our sponsor sites and keep them coming back. Thanks again its' been fun.

Hey the more sponsors we get the better right? Others may see whats going on and want to hop on the bandwagon. We are the guys who buy thier products and that type of direct advertising is priceless. It was just an idea that came to me while I was wishing I was there.

Strike Master had some good deals on clothing. I bought a jacket with thier logo on it for $20. I purchased one of thier fleece zippered sweatshirts for only $5, bad part was they only had size large. I still should of bought all of them up and sold them on eBay.
Whats the deal with Thorne Bros.? They had one of those snap in blade covers for a strikemaster auger and the guy told me it was $42???? I put that sucker down quick and went back to the strikemaster both a purchased it for $25. A buddy of mine got a good deal on St. Croix legend rods. Two for $80 and two free hats from the manufacturer's booth when he showed them that he bought them. Christen Brothers brandy booth was a disapointment! We entered to win a free pop-up and they let us have a free shot of brandy, but when we went back she remembered us and said that you already had your shot. She said, only one shot per person.... :'(

Gentlemen thank you for the Photographs and reports these past few days. I have my plans made to attend the Syracuse,NY. show so this thread was a teaser for me.
Ditto on the Ice Castle photos they are some sweeeet looking trailers,may you get many years of service from yours and make many good memories in it.
Also thanks for promoting this website looking at the membership number at the bottom of home page,it appears we gained over a hundred new members in the last two days.

Thanks for pointing that out Steve, I was wondering about that. Skipper and Tommy did a great job for us! I have to be honest, I was a little depressed knowing I couldn't be there with them, it's a great show and it would be fun to meet some of the members face to face. I look forward to watching the Syracuse show from afar as well.

The membership numbers are going up rapidly. I see you are down in North Carolina do you ever get enough ice to fish through in the Smokey Mountains . I realize you may have relocated from a colder area and still travel north to ice fish.
