Why dont you two carpool. Maybe the decreased carbon emissions would give us some good ice! ::)

Only downside to this winter boating thing is how dirty my boat is from going back and forth Sunday and Monday.  Whote boat is now brown covered with road chum.  In the end it was well worth it.  The lakers were in their usual haunts and were suicidal Sunday.  Monday they were very tempremental.  From the looks of the graph the perch population is booming but I didnt take any time to target them.

Just looked at the camera for the Lake Hotel on Canada st and it looks like alot of skim ice. More than I would want to break up but I don't know what you think. Check it out. This cold locked it up some, not enough to walk on of course............

The cams not working for me.
What is the  cut off date that we can’t launch without getting the boat inspection?

Iowa's boat should break that up quite easily.

30 April is the start of the "boating season" where you would need a sticker.  Lake stewards typically are not there when I launch.  The boat inspection is easy.  Keep your boat clean, make sure no old plant life is hanging off the trailer.  Worse comes to worse they send you around the corner for a free wash.  Dont go on the lake without the LGA "sticker".

I dont boat on this lake past April, gets too crazy.

Just an FYI to all the guys asking about the boat permit. The permit is annual and expires March 31 of the given year.  The "boating season" rule was changed when the boat launch opened all year round. The boat inspections for invasive species are seasonal.  Basically if you want to boat LG anytime of year, you need a boat permit.

The following is from the LGPC website...https://lgpc.ny.gov/boat-registrations

Any vessel mechanically propelled by a motor 10 h.p. or greater, must register with the Lake George Park Commission and display a Registration Decal.

Boats may be registered annually or for one day or week.

Please read the information below and then click the link to be redirected to our Boat Registration Website

Lots of interesting contradiction between the site and what actually happens at the launch.  I always buy a one day durimg "enforcement season" (read their enforcement reports for more detail on thst season.  I always show the stewards at MDB the receipt (the few rare occassions they beat me to the launch and rarer occassions when I'm on the lake during the old 'boating season') and the reciept was fine even though the site says explicitly that you need the sticker displayed.

Right now, they arent monitoring the launch and there is no enforcement on the lake to check for a decal.  Its been this way for the last several years Ive been taking the boat up in winter.  This isnt to suggest the rules shouldnt be followed but more to say they loosly enforce them outside of what was the official LG "boating season" and there is absolutely no singage at the launch for anyone doing a day trip to suggest the requirement.  End of the day its a tax to use the lake.

Yes, Lowaccord66, I agree.

A friend and I were fishing "off" season years ago and actually got stopped by LG park police on the lake fishing. The officer was great and only checked life jackets and fishing licenses. And "Kindly" suggested the next time we go to have a permit. I just get the year permit since it's only forty bucks for my boat then I don't have to worry about it. I tow to were I fish, more places to go!!!! ;D

Enforcement of law is up to the deciding officer investigating!

Unsure on that one.  Some of the smaller launches like hauge sometimes are closed without explination.  Why I always use MDB.

Sometimes the gate is closed. I have never been up this early in the year. This weekend looks great, 4mph ENE wind and 59*F on Sunday.

Hasnt been in the past several years ive been there.  Hauge and others certainly have but never mdb.

I will warn, dont dress for 59 with that light wind.  You will freeze.  Plan for 40ish on the water.
