Wheelers can still get on at hearthstone.  Just keep a bit to right.  Straight off is getting chewed up. Chains recommended.
It was almost glare at 9am but some snow traction now.
No pressure ridges I see as problems.
Hill was fine but that was 9am. About 1.5" snow since

I was going to fill that hole on the left at hearthstone with snow...if someone reads this and gets there that would help our cause.  Otherwise I am going to do it Sat am early.

I don't know what good it will do as it's moving water about 2 feet deep.  The ice has broken off the shore and to continue getting on there will only deteriorate.
Just stay to the right about 30 feet where it's tight and all will be fine.
Besides,  there really isn't that much snow to use, you'd better bring a wheelbarrow

I was also out Monday with atv.  It's chewed in that spot straight ahead  since then ( where jj dug the snow bank out).
There is no more snowbank left.
Just keep right and it won't chew more off

You can definitely drive through but it will hurt conditions.

Hi guys! My son and I have been waiting to fish Lakers at George for three years. We tow a snowmobile trailer so I guess I'm looking for what is my best access and also were to park a truck and trailer. I see everyone talks about Hearthstone which by looking at the map is in the camp ground  I'm guessing and MDB at the end of the lake.  I'm coming from CT so it's a three hour drive I'm just looking for my best access point so I'm not driving around all morning. Any info will be greatly appreciated,we have a ATV and snowmobile so getting to spots aren't a problem. Tight lines everyone and thanks in advance. Bob

Hearthstone has plenty parking  when you can drive to the bottom,  which was fine yesterday.
I'd leave the snowmobile home as there really isn't much snow.  They got about 1.5"  yesterday.
There was about 15" ice and I didn't see any bad pressure ridges.
Just be mindful of where the dive team cut out the ice.

Hey everyone, heading up in the morning and was wondering how Harris bay/ assembly point is holding up and if they are still taking machines out? My plan was to head out towards long Island over some deeper water. Thank you, Jeff.

I went out past Long Island. Ice is definitely getting thinner.  Didn’t want to go much farther alone !

Anyone been by Huletts lately?  I know that on/off gets a little tricky with any kind of thaws.
A bent rod is a good rod!

Fished hulettes all day today. Safe on and safe off. Watch the bubbler by the island directly out. Lost a lot compared the last weekend but still over 12 inches. Smooth walking. And all the 4” perch you could ever want

Was just advised of two four wheelers going through in the South Basin..... those ice eaters will open water very fast when its like this.... be careful out there.

Hope everyone got out safe today.  Fog was a nightmare.
Ice is still tough up at canoe island. Sloppy on top though.  Lots wheelers around and some snowmobiles. snowmobile would not be recommend at this point.
I figure a week maybe 2 with wheelers left here.
