Day as like today I hate the perch limit on LG, done at 9:30 and left with them still stacked up 7' off bottom.

I just looked at the regs for LG, yellow perch, any size, limit 50. The limit is the same as statewide regs unless I'm missing something.

There was no limit on yellow perch.   Still is no limit on much larger neighboring Lake Champlain

I know it won't happen but LG should really go back to no limit.

Everything should have limits. Take home what you can eat for a meal and send the rest back. 50 is ridiculous in my opinion. 20 is plenty.  No need to freezer burn that many fish.

what I find ridiculous is someone from another state telling new Yorkers how many of our fish we can take home and eat

Funny thing is that I have ate or help.eat well over 200 perch this winter and we have a big fish fry in the spring.   No freezer burn.      Some people have no clue.

Guys it was my opinion, Noone is 'telling' you how many you can keep?  All I said was everything should have limits?
Dont be mad at me...I didn't make the 50 fish law?  I love perch as much as the next guy.
Lol.. and I certainly don't live from a grocery store my friend... my freezer is full of venison.

Between giving to friends and relatives, what I eat and several fish fries I like to have a camp I can easily go through 1000 fish. That's what I caught last year and was out after early muzzle loader at camp.

Guys, I guess it was also my bad using the word "ridiculous".  I meant no offense.  That post above on vacuum sealers is very true.  I use the vacuum sealer on my venison and perch and it keeps them very well in the freezer.
Have a great rest of your season on the hardwater guys.

There is a limit restriction for a reason, 50 a day is more than enough. I'm picky on what size I keep, nothing under 10".
If you keep the small ones then there won't be any bigger ones!

Yesterday when I was leaving MDB a guy was going on with a 4 wheeler, I hope he made it home safe!

+1, 50 is plenty.
If you want to keep on fishing, keep 49 and throw the rest back!

Take those little ones put them in a frying pan with a little oil cook till they turn white. Chill them in  the frig. Then break up to small pieces add chopped celery and onion and mayo . makes a great substitute tuna salad

I hear ya...I'm kinda the pan fish provider for my siblings and some friends always want to trade pan fish fillets for venison.

Seems like I barely went ice fishing this winter but I still caught over 500 pannies. Oh well time to get the fillet knife out and finish up todays.

Someday when the fish are all gone because some people have to be pigs. They will say gee! I wonder what happened, it use to be good here. Even 50 is to many. I wonder what the total take is every day between everybody that's fishing. Probably why the majority of perch on George are dinks!  ::)
