Crazy...was just walking on that!

I think there was an ID10T error by yours truly and i had old web pages stored in my cache or something. The fact that Saratoga had snow on the ground was a dead gievaway  ::)

Had my last trip off the beach yesterday. Had 6" and was decently hard ice in the morning but by 11am the top 2 inches was honey comb but we weren't sinking into it. We left at noon and the shoreline was breaking up. A couple of us were breaking through the last 3 feet of ice at shore. Landed a 25.5" laker for my last fish I'll take it! Hope to get a salmon next season!

Went down to MDB boat launch today in the fog to see how bad the ice was. someone had taken several baby-head sized rocks from the rip-rap next to the dock piers and thrown them on to the ice. Now they melted through and were all laying in the middle of the concrete launch ramp underwater.
I sure hope that wasn't some ice fishermen that did it! That's just dumb!

Can't wait for the new season IF we are lucky and it freezes.  Loudmouth you should try to link up with someone to show you around the first few trips.  The ice on LG is really variable and the pressure ridges tricky.

Told my boss I'm taking a week of as soon as it freezes!

It would be nice if it were in effect for ice season Logan.  I think im going to camp on LG instead of champlain this year if it freezes...jigging smelt would give me something to do in the dark...

Water was 50 degrees out there today. Lots of dink perch out there. Harder to get the better perch than I thought it would be after the lack of ice last winter. All in all still a nice day to be out there  :)

Got another buck and a doe this past weekend. Only have one doe tag and my bow/muzzle antlerless tags left. Might eat them and invest the rest of my free time fixing some stuff around the house and buying a truck. Then its all ice fishing. I was going to try for a lake george camp out this year my self. I have a buddy who wants to do it with me but we cant decide between lake george or onieda. Oniedas got the walleye thing going for fishing in the dark.

As for the smelt thing i have a funny "feeling" that once your aloud to use those smelt some of the jigged laker numbers are going to go through the roof. Could we see 50+ in a single day?

This might sound dumb, but are there whitefish in lake George. I'm south of buffalo and fish the west end of NYS. I am thinking of going for a weekend in February. Sorry if I might be asking a silly question. Thanks in advance.

No whitefish, but there are cisco, that are a salmonid. They are a big part of laker diet in George.
