It was open. Went by on Sunday and was only frozen to the islands.

I can't imagine any ice is forming with the winds we've had the past couple of days

No, but cold winds cool the water down. They also churn it, bringing warm stuff up. Could be in for a quick freeze if it calms and stays cold

Laker waters will not freeze this year.

I'm pretty confident we will get out on lake trout water at some point. Won't be for long, but I'm okay with that. Most years its February till we can even sniff that deeper water. I'm also the glass half-full type, so take it for what its worth.

We only need the bays to freeze. There are many years the whole lake doesn't freeze. 2012 and 2013 were a couple of my best for perch on LG.

Harris was froze out to the islands yesterday. Dunham's Bay had broken up ice near the docks. Hope it stays cold.

I did not read this but was told there was an article in the Post Star about the upcoming ice carnival and lack of ice. In the article it said the Lake temperature was 41. If that's true still got a long ways to go. Need some temps around zero and NO wind.
