How were ice/slush/snow conditions for getting around today?

Did a sun up to sundown @vets yesterday....39 slob perch, a mess of smelt (returned to the lake of course) and nuisance Lakers on ultralight setup.  Great day despite the horrible walking conditions.  Came back this morning....bite was tough, only scratched out 7 keepers.  Left early, dejected and hating the walk back in.  Not many guys out.  Sure am glad colder days/nights are coming.
I'd rather be fishing...

We had a snowmobile to get around walking was wet. Crust layer on top that you break through. 5 in. Of snow 4 in. Of slush underneath. Muck boots or knee highs are necessary in my opinion!

we were in hauge and there was very little snow left. There was a layer of crust on top that you broke through in some places but there was also areas where the walking was easy. id say buy tomorrow or the next day well be back to good surface walking.

I recently saw small branch's sticking out of the snow off of PK. They were both on the left and the right side. In earlier posts I read someone  fell through. Are those branch's where it happened? Any input would be appreciated. Coming up both Sat and Sun.

Well the slush froze up everywhere I was today, easy walking might want creepers now though.

Here's a couple good ones from yesterday, conditions weren't too bad, found an area with solid ice. Weren't a lot if fish in the area, we just couldn't move around much without getting into the slop/slush/water.

Awesome photo's.  Fished off Vets today.  Mostly all locked up, no snow.  Wheelers is now the choice on the lake with almost no snow cover.

Fished Sunday and did well for lakers in 50/60 FOW.  Morning was nice, solid ice and by afternoon every step had me up to my calves in slush/water. This weekend will refreeze beautifully! Can't wait to get back.

Oh yea Trembo, your done. Guys on this site got me hooked last year, sense first safe ice of the season Iv been out after them at least twice a week. Just have no motivation for tip ups or pan fish anymore.

Tomorrow is one of the great days mid week that I get to go. Going to take advantage of being solo tomorrow and make a lot of moves until I find them.
