Fished the Pond Saturday for northerns. Did pretty well #'s wise. Walking was ok in the morning, worse as temps rose. Some spots worse than others. Did not see any wheelers, but did see sleds around. Thanks to JBogg for some info on parking, etc. Always a good time on the Pond.

I'm hoping to bring my son out to GP this Saturday for the derby.  Please let me know how bad the slush is.  He does not have insulated rubber boots.

I wouldn't even think of taking any kids without insulated waterproof boots.

The boots are more important than the fish. I learned it and I preach it.

Thank you everyone for the slush reports, I appreciate it.  Looks like we will be catching a movie instead.

Went out saturday and it was quite hard still not much slush to the center. Going beyond that there was a rather slushy patch. Nothing of any size saturday

Duke how was the pond today. Did you bring your sled out? I'm itching to get back out. Thanks again for the tow yesterday. I got it back up and running. Bad coil.

Other then Saturday I can take anytime off. Think Oneida may be rough for a while. Don't think sleds will make it back in after a few hours of sun. IF we can do sleds on the pond we can try bogeys honey hole

Duke I'm kind of thinking maybe fishing Oneida south shore tomorrow morning. Getting on early and getting off before lunch. My spot is about 1/4 mile from where my sled was. I have a nice platform there from all the holes I have been drilling out there.

Sounds like a plan!  Was supposed to be gone the next two weeks for work, but that didnt pan out.  So i got a couple more weeks to try and catch some fish before the ice goes.  When it goes its gonna be quick!
You can get a good look at a steak by sticking your head up a bull's a$$, but wouldn't you rather take the butcher's word for it??
