MN ATV sticker?

I’m from Iowa and going to be heading north to do some ice fishing. My ATV is registered In Iowa but what do I need for MN? Just using it from parking lot to lake or Mississippi River. Don’t plan on running down roads or ATV trails. What do I need to be legal? Thanks

You’ll need a non resident state trail pass. From the dnr website.

Ethan C is right you will need the trail pass to use your ATV in MN. the good thing about this is that it is good for a year and would allow you to trail ride during the summer if you chose to come here to do that. the only other thing that may or mat not apply is the required safety training. this training is only required for those born on or after July 1, 1987.

You should check w/ DNR.

I was there about 6 years ago w/ an ATV from IN that was registered but I didn't have it on me. They said no pass needed for ice only but I need registration. They wrote a tt for non registered and told me to fax the registration back to them when I got back and would delete the tt. I did and they tore up the tt. It was in Garrison off of Mille Lacs.

any of the DMV offices(place where we get license tabs) sell them, also do registrations there if you are from MN but does not apply to non residents.

here is what the book says :

 Non-resident trail passes can be purchased online (an additional 3% plus $1.65 service fee will be added), or at game and fish license agents, and deputy registrar offices.

so any place that sells hunting and fishing licenses can sell you one too.
