Deep water jigging rap rig?

Im fishing deep water tomorrow and im going to try a #2 jigging rap.  Should i use it alone or with a weight to get it down quicker?  Im thinking not, but not sure.

Thanks, that's what I thought.  I like this little rap, blue/silver caught me half my perch that day.  Going back out tomorrow.   :)
