Lake Winnipeg, Firday
« on: Feb 07, 2009, 03:41 PM »
Hit Lake Winnipeg early in the morning (sun-up), fished the first spot with no luck and only two marks on the flasher. Moved after an hour. Non - Stop action is what happened at the second spot. Iced 8 Keeper Walleye's and caught about 5 more that were smaller (felt good to be picky about the size of the keepers). All keepers were between 18 and 21 Inches and the others were 15 to 18 Inches. Lost a hog at the hole. Also managed two Pike both 25 to 27 Inches. Lots of fish on the flasher. Lost a bunch and had lots of other bites. Fishing was really good up until 4:00 pm and then it died off. Live minnows hooked on a Gold 1/4 ounce worked the best. Don't remember the depth. The crack went from nothing to bottoming out the truck going over on the way out (be careful). All in all it was great to get out and nail the Walleyes for a change. Good luck to all who head out this Weekend.....Jiffy
