I bought my striker suit through dicks sporting goods, online. They frequently have coupons for either a percentage off or dollars off. I found them to be the lowest price when I bought mine, with their coupons.

I wear UA cold gear and then a wool shirt over that. UA bottoms, jeans and a windproof/waterproof pants over that sock liner, wool socks and 1000 gram Thinsulate waterproof boot. for a jacket, usually Ice Armor jacket as it is also windproof or I have a Field and Stream insulated, windproof/waterproof hooded jacket that is very light weight but warm. Wind is your worst enemy.

Good Suit … has a lower amount of insulation ..figure fall ..early ice ..late ice ..early spring 60g vs 100g in the Predator

usually fish a half dozen times or so between 10-30 degrees above zero. I am older and get cold easy-do not have shanty.

If your standing around a lot ...I would shy away from the Trekker line up ...go with the Predator or better

Good video on the other models  and warmth factor/activities

Next would be sizing ...if you can find a locale dealer to try on the SI suits that's great ..other option if you can try on a different brand/model and compare the sizing charts and go from there ..I bought a Clam Blue suit in 2009 in large I used that as my best guess along with SI size chart to purchase my Climate suit in large several years later.

Another option ..100g insulation..says pre order but a phone call or Email might get a better delivery date ...usually you can get the Predator line up $50 bucks off MSRP..on a regular basis ..I still think the Predator is your best bet ..you can dress up a little or down a little to get the warmth you need/want.

I would say most of the floating ice suits offered by the various manufacturers are pretty comparable ..things I would look for ...100g plus insulation ...adjustable inseam ...detachable hood ..then pocket layout..price ..and liberal exchange/return policy ..after that its brand loyalty/recognition and color choice ...if your looking for a nice warm suit that does not float go with this choice ..my buddys started out with the earlier versions with great success. But for the investment cant beat a float suit .

I don't use a hut a lot and rock the Striker Predator, have absolute loved it.  Much better than my previous ice armor 2-pice float suit.  I run hot and find myself often not wearing the jacket if the drag is tough (so I don't overheat).  If warmth is you main concern, you may want to look into one-piece Stearns or Mustang suits.  I have a one-piece Stearns "Challenger" suit which I only wear on the coldest of days.  It's a little less flexible than the two piece suits, but it definitely keeps the heat in.

One more vote for the Striker Climate. I like it has removable lining for both the Jacket and bibs so you can adjust to temps. It is very comfortable.

The Predator ice suit is very warm and not bulky. I fished in this suit from -10 to 35 degrees and I have never been cold.

Good Luck with your purchase...the hardest part is now ahead of you ..what not to wear under it ..there is a learning curve ..recommend light/tech weight base with jogging pants for bibs ..for the top tech/lite weight base layer and then layers atop that..got to be able to remove items of clothing at will ..that suit will keep you quite warm.
