Lake independence ice conditions

Are people still driving trucks on Independence?

haven't been up there for a couple weeks. I'd imagine trucks aren't on it, but would be interested to hear a recent report.

Was on Independence today.  Solid out to perch hole out from landing.  No slush at all.  Didn't see any trucks but really didn't see much of anything with the wind and whiteout conditions!!  When we were pulling out 3 DNR trucks were unloading.

Marked perch but they were non-commital.  Weren't targeting perch but phone with Navionics was left in a diff vehicle in Marquette (me) and since we couldn't see where we were going we didn't move around.  Someone was nice enough to lead us out!  Could see on way in but was just too windy.  First time on lk (on ice.)

No, haha, for some reason I feel the need to drive over an hour to look for fish!  (Independence is the closest I've been!)

Have you been to Munising so far. Heard today the bite is on by the Anna.
