Got everything set and ready to go. Wish the ice would get here soon. The longer I sit, the more stuff I think I need to buy

On the way home from bow hunting it was 30 deg.  Cold weather is on the way!

It shouldn't be all that long now. The earliest I hit the ice in any year was the Friday after Thanksgiving, which is about 3 week's out now. Might have to respool soon. I don't like to do it too early ... it's fires up the urge to fish so I try to wait until the lakes at least skim over, or I'll drive myself nuts.

I know what you mean. Got all excited because it was sub freezing the other day. Now its been above 45 the last couple days.

Stopped last nite on my way home from Chicago at the Cabella's north of Milwaukee and bought a few new jigs. My 15 year old son slash fishin buddy told me the other week he wanted to do more jiggin this year instead of tip-ups lik last year so I bought him some new tackle to try out. Last season we got skunked every time we tried jiggin but he's convinced he's gonna have a better year. Also, bought a Viking two-man shack for this season. Supposed to get snow this weekend so we are hoping for ice SOOOOONN. I hope.

Same here. I wouldn't mind having ice when I get back up here from Thanksgiving break, but unlikely I think. Checked the long range for forecast and it looks like they are calling for a temperature drop, but who knows.
