Born a troll and still living under the bridge. But Grandmother is a yooper born and bred, although living down here for many years now also. We do have a family cabin near Sidnaw that I would like to someday use for an ice fishing vacation base camp. Any of you guys near there and how is the ice fishing within an hour or so of there?
Dan

Skinnytrucker;
Antoine is safe now. Alot of people out by the gas company. Seen some nice gills on ice. Ice is really forming up here, but looks like this storm will dump up to 2 feet of snow up here. Not good for ice. You guys are kind of in the Banana belt there so maybe you won't get as much. Good luck and be safe   Steve

Thanks. My son and I went to Strawberry Lake here in Norway and had a great first time out for the season. We had two big problems though, I forgot propane tank for heat and I forgot the brand new ice skimmer. Oh well we still had a good time even though we were cold.

I have lived in Chassell for all but a few months of my life (55 years). I couldn't even picture living anywhere other than the U.P.

Born and raised in the Sault, now living in Paw Paw(near Kalamazoo). The more I live below the bridge, the more I miss the U.P. I try to make it home as much as posible. I will tell you there is no better sign or feeling when you see the welcome to the U.P. sign when you cross the bridge. You know you are home, where people can drive in the snow.

I am a newbie on the ice shanty from St Ignace. I have lived here for 21 years from the LP in West Branch. I normally fish for steelies through the ice on L Huron and L Michigan. It is way too much fun.
