Storing hub for offseason
« on: Apr 02, 2020, 02:53 PM »
I bought a clam x4000 thermal hub this winter. I am now in the process of putting my gear away for the summer.  I am thinking of strapping it to the ceiling in my garage but I am not sure if the weight of it hanging on the poles all offseason will cause any issues with it?  Has anyone tried this method or have a better storage idea for ceiling.  I am running out of shelf space and floor space.
Thanks

I've had my QF3i for three summers. I've stored in the bag standing in a corner of the garage, but now up on this rafter rig from Menards. https://www.menards.com/main/storage-organization/garage-outdoor-organizers/ceiling-storage/hyloft-reg-hammertone-adjustable-ceiling-kit-2-pack/80844-10/p-1511163039573-c-12656.htm

I store my Yukon hung from the rafters on a Racor Ceiling Lift.  It has the ability to lower it with the use of hand crank or drill.  Capacity of the lift is 250 lbs.  You can get these at Home Depot, Amazon etc .  Cost of the lift is about $160 and mounted in an hour.  I like the lift because I can lower it to my tailgate and just push off.  Same to load back up.

I got a kayak hoist for storing my eskimo evo 1it, but it would work equally as well for a hub, maybe even better. They can be found for around $20-$25.

You must have got a steal on that Racor ceiling lift. The cheapest I found was on Amazon for around $250

There are lifts a lot cheaper than this. If you have a reasonable sized sled or hub shelter, a bike lift should work.

This is for 4 lifts- should haul all your gear up to the ceiling.
