Wisconsin’s laws prohibiting price gouging are now in effect after Governor Evers issued Executive Order #72 March 12. These laws generally prohibit any wholesaler or retailer from selling consumer goods or services at prices that are more than 15% higher than pre-emergency prices. There are, however, some exceptions to the prohibition. Who does Gov. Cuomo call! He stated that he had to bid $8.00 for N 95 masks that originally cost 85c.
There was also an auctioneer selling N 95 masks that were being bid on at a huge premium. The authorities arrested him, and he stated that because people were bidding on them he didn't set the price, he started the bidding at $1.00.
Looks like some have already figured a way around the price gouging law!
