St. Vrain is not only a great place to take your kids for trout, but if you stay away from the stocked ponds it’s great place for warm water fish too! I spent a few days there after work trying to catch everything they have but trout and, well, i did my best! It was definitely a grind trying to figure them out, but once I got it, I got it!! All bass the were caught in 2ft on a red jig head and a waxie, perch were found in 13 ft with a red jig, a red plastic and waxie, and the crappies were caught on the same jig head and pink plastics with a waxie between 8-3 ft, I also caught tons of bluegill under 4 inches😂. If you put in the work you will find what your looking for.
