Title: Auger Diameter

Got a 5" hand auger , will it be big enough for walleye?

Well sir its what you have so I'll say yes.  Not sure where you are but lots of guy fish eyes with 6" holes.


I use a 9 " hole but If I only had a 5" I'd be fishing it.

Id get a good pair of landing gloves to go with a hole that small because theres not gonna be much chance to get your hand in the gills you gotta grab the teeth

Depends where you fish... I fish Green Bay And I use a 10" auger... I love 10" for jigging and tipups.. Doesn't freeze as fast and much easier to get big fish through the hole... Now that being said I know a guy who squeezed a 13 pound walleye through a 6" hole a couple years ago.. So it can be done
