Vexilar Master Switch
« on: Nov 02, 2003, 07:25 PM »
Anyone done this?  I got the idea after seeing this year's
ultra pack.  For a couple bucks for the cost of the switch it makes things a little more convenient than disconnecting the negative, especially with the softpack.  Note the switch just above the battery status indicator.

Man I sure hope it ices over soon, the tinkering is driving my wife nuts...

It's a good idea, I was thinking about doing the same thing.  I may just have to go pick up a switch and do that now - one more thing before the ice arrives!!!  I think that ultra pac looks cool, but kind of clunky.

Trevor;
Good idea with the switch!
How do you like the soft cover for your Vex???
Trying to decide if I should get one or not.
Has anyone used the flex light?

Glad you guys like the idea.   I agree with the Ultra Pack looking clunky.  Things are supposed to get more compact not bulkier.

I don't regret buying the soft pack Nunzio.  The vex is an investment worth protecting.

I've never used the flex light.  Could never see myself buying one, not sold on it.  I could probably rig a light from stuff lying aroung the house...

Why do you disconnect the negative?

 What kind of a 500th post is this?
Every plastics manufacturer claims plastics outfish livebait. So now I use livebait just for the increased challenge.

Because if left connected the battery status indicator will slowly drain the battery over time.  If I habitually disconnect the main power I won't have to worry about forgeting it and having to buy a new battery.  Now all I do is flick a switch...
