Hub Shack lights
« on: Sep 28, 2021, 09:37 PM »
For those of you that use hubs quite a bit what do you use for lights? I have the clam light/fan and it’s a little underwhelming.

The clam hub light puts out a lot of light for as small/simple as they are.

I run these via my M18 Lantern which has a USB...also ran them off a powerbox .. a power bank ..suggest getting the longer set . EZPZ up/down and can be moved from hub to flipover ..to a friends shelter etc. This season I am going to run them off a 5ah Milwaukee battery and a knockoff power source via Amazon .

depends on which hub I fish out of but I like to just take one or two of the small Clam light sticks and tuck them between the poles of the roof. I do run one of the small round hub lights in my C360 thermal and that is enough for that size house (6'X6')

I use lights similar to these: https://www.amazon.com/Anywhere-Portable-Wireless-Activated-Rechargeable/dp/B06XQ39PMF/ref=sr_1_12?dchild=1&keywords=rechargeable+Led+cabinet+light&qid=1632918484&sr=8-12

I used velcro on the backside of the light, and a strip of velcro on the top of my shack wherever you want the lights so they are removable for charging. I also have velcro strips in my one man hub on the cross bars so I can use the lights in there. These things are bright and I rarely run all 4 of them at once. I did the rope light thing and the clam fan/light thing and this system is hands down the most convenient I have found. No wires, no batteries and cheaper than the other options.
Da Pack!

I have a Luminoodle, one of the originals from when they first came out. Lights up my 3 man pop up pretty well, well enough to fish in after dark. For power I carry just carry a portable USB Anker power pack, which is also nice to have in case of emergency, since it can charge/power my phone if need be

I used waterproof LED's.  Each strand is about 30".  Attached them to each of the ceiling struts and wired at the center thru a 4:1 connector and wired down to a battery.  The LED's have an adhesive backing and added a few wire ties to help secure them when collapsing the hub.  These have been working like this for 5 yrs now.

If you know anything about soldering or connectors, you can do this pretty cheap.

Honestly a good ol 12V led Light Bulb suspended from the ceiling really works great.   I use this one in a reflector/ultility type fixture, then you can clamp it anywhere you want.   It pulls about .75amp current.   It's awesome!

I use a Cordless LED Work Light. I place two loops of velcro straps around the pole above me. A small loop for the hook on the light and a larger loop to hold the handle, adjust the straps to hold the light level. Works well for me and I use the light year round!
