Access from French island landing

fishing nut:
Is the ice good enough to take a side by side from the landing on north end of french island by Lacrosse Airport out around point and head towards the airport lights area?  How has the fishing been in that area?

Nelson/Sailboat landing? Yes....that ice was 8" in late December.
