Title: largest burbot to date

dont target them but had this guy playing with my bait on my tip up, could just bafrly hear the bell as he didnt even set the flag off on my tip up, as i got his head to the top of the hole he spit the quickstrike rig out and i had to stick my arm down the hole past my elbow to grab him, all i could think was "do burbot have teeth like pike"  :tipup:

came in at just shy of 6 lbs, pigeon lake alberta

nice fish and congrats. Don't worry about their mouths it is rough like sandpaper they don't have sharp teeth like pike.

An odd time when they were not really feeding hard I have had them just sit there and chew on my set rods.
All I would see is the movement of the line and a sight twitch on the rod tip. I go over slowly feel for weight, set the hook and, fish on. :tipup:

Yeah don't worry about teeth for sure....I'd stick any of my body parts in their mouth.
