The colder weather brings in some of the newest gear. Here is a small review of a new product from Eagle Claw . Eagle Claw Ice Rod Locker. First impressions this case is tough with good hard sides like a good gun case. When we first opened it up we could not believe the room . This Case will hold at least 6 fully rigged ice fishing rods held in adjustable foam rod suspension retainers. These are moveable so you can fit any size rod up to 38 inches long . Also with all the room there is enough space to add your jig boxes . We stopped loading it at 6 smaller boxes but still room for more if you need. You could even store your tip ups in this case.
The weight of the case is less than some of the other way higher priced ones out on the market . These cases are reasonably priced at under $60.00 .

Thanks for sharing and showing pictures of it loaded up. Always looking for that perfect storage that wont break the bank.

That's looks nice.

Looks like a great little case. I might have to check it out, I'm in the market for a rod case this winter. I do think that I would maybe add a layer of foam over top the rods before I closed it though, just to secure the rods from top and bottom being that the top of the case doesn't have any foam padding.

Looks like a good value in a rod case. I sometimes carry a 7 iron and some orange whiffle balls to help the boredom pass. That rig might fit. Also room for my BB gun. If I can hit you with a BB then you've drilled too close.

Thanks for sharing! Any idea when these will be released?

Saw them at SW store in Loveland and on their website. Looked like a pretty good case for the money.

I need to take a look at this, it sure would beat wasting 1/2 hour untangling lines when I get to the lake.
-
Does anyone know where I can find one of these cases? I've searched on Google, different sporting goods sites, and even ebay. I can't seem to find them anywhere, and I'd like to purchase one. Any info is much appreciated!

We carry them at our shop Colorado Tackle Pro in Colorado Springs Colorado. However ATM we are sold out and from what I understand from Eagle Claw they as usual did not make enough to satisfy the demand. I still have 12 more on order that are back ordered we went through the first 24 in a heart beat. I will post here if I get more in. We will ship if they do come back in.

the pics didn't load for some reason. how can I get them to load? my wife got me a frabill hard sided case but you have to fold in all the handles on the reels to make it work. not gonna work.

Photobucket is charging people to host pics now.
I got mine from the country store. My only beef with it is it won’t fit my 48 inch roach rods. Other than that I love it.

so this eagle claw does work with the reel on and everything right? you van just set your rod right in it and close it? a lot of them don't work without taking off the reel or folding in the handle or whatever else.

Seems like you'd be able to.

Heck yeah Ron carry that sucka up to Jizm Lake!

I found it does make a better fit for all the rods if you fold the handles, but you don't have to. It's pretty roomy, holds my jawjacker as well. A little bulky in the sled but eliminates the need for my bucket. I like it l a lot so far!

No, but I'm ready for a hike with the chainsaw. We can always make a raft out of the trees I cut up if there's no ice LOL.
