I parked there the end of last year with no problem but haven't been this year. If not you can go to Midway or at worst along the road in Maple Springs.
Fishermen are born honest, but they get over it...

There is actually no public access in maple springs.. its all private property,  I should know cause I live 5 minites from there.. get to know the land owners and just ask, most of them dont care.. just respect it and normally there isnt any problems

Was out today on Burtis - from eleven til two - all in all it was a pleasant day - guessing there was about forty fisherman on the ice - Tried out my new Ion auger - neat machine.
Guessing there is any where from seven to eight inches of ice.  Surface yesterday required grips - today about two inches of snow made pulling a shelter a little harder but it was not bad.  Did limit out with about half and half of smaller gills mixed in with slabs. Felt marvelous being out there.  Most gills were caught with small jigs with wax worms... Good luck

Was out on Burtis today about four hours and caught three fish  -  day before i limited out on gills guessing the south east wind had something to do with it - appears Wednesday the lake water may harden up with colder weather predicted, so i may sit back and hope all gets firm once again.  At present in areas there are as much as two inches of water but it seems to be flowing back down through open holes in the ice.   Also ice cleats to me are a must till we get some snow back on top..

I am looking to hit Mayville or Burtis Tuesday evening, any reports on the shore ice would be appreciated! I am hoping it will hold up even with these temps above freezing the next 24-36 hours. Thanks!

I usually fish out of Mayville, but haven't been down yet this year.  Is the usual 6-8" of slush on top of the ice right now?

Thanks,

Tim

I am also looking for an ice report on Mayville, want to go tonight, but the weather has not been cooperating, I will probably have to wait until the weekend :(
