Buffalo Bob,
Hope to get out for the first time someplace this weekend.  Waiting to hear from my fishing buddy, The Postmaster.
Last year our first outing was at ASP-Red House.  Waiting for the 'Safe Ice' reports.  Will probably hit the south basin if possible.
Practice Selective Harvest - Catch & Release to sustain our fisheries. 🔃

Anybody know if the Redwood in Bemus Pt is open? I think the bait shop closed but the lodging is what I'm looking for. Thx

About 8" fell in the last 48 hrs. -3 out this morning. Hope last nights wind was strong enough to blow most of the snow off the deep.

I've been out on Burtis the last couple days/nights.  the ice is fine with 2-4" about half black.  Definitely not time to bring the 4 wheelers and the Noah's Ark size huts but a sled and some gear is fine.  The bite is spotty.  You can find the gills if you move around.  seems like the perch are a BIT bigger than last year but nothing like the In Fisherman picture.  Early morning and late afternoons are definitely more active than mid day at least for the last two days.

'3. Tournament Limits:
1) All Pro-Am teams must enter and exit the ice from the assigned ice access location(s) ONLY (shotgun locations). Anyone leaving the ice at any location other than the designated access point will result in team disqualification from the tournament.'

The above is from the NY ICE PRO-AM tournament website. I have a few questions. First, does anyone know where the "assigned ice access location(s) are for the chautauqua lake tourny? Second, does this mean that if Burtis and/or Mayville are the "assigned locations" I can't enter the Pro-Am division and get on the ice at Prendergast or Long Point?

I'd think I could compete in the Pro-Am division but I don't have a snowmobile or a 4-wheeler and don't want to be limited to a couple access sites.
Can anyone clear this up? Thanks

that is correct. they said there should be 2 or possibly 3 launch sites for the pro/am    but the open division can enter from whereever....
boss spoons, they can catch it all!!!

I spoke with Tim Thomas about the open anglers. Open anglers can enter the ice anywhere, but they must return to the weighin location via the ice.  So if you park at ms and fish there, you gotta walk to Pendergast.

I haven't seen many reports on safe ice or many fishing reports, with the next storm system supposedly dropping another foot of snow this could doom the ice making process,I dont see the tourney going off again this year, but I believe there is a backup date this year. This is a real shame with all the volunteers working so hard to get this off the ground,if we can only get lake Erie to freeze but we're running out of time.Lets hope Mother Nature is good to us this time and freeze all that snow!!!!!!!!!!!

Question specific to Chautauqua.  What size perch are you guys keeping.  I caught about 100 perch today in a couple hours.  90% were 7-71/2". Maybe half a dozen over 8"

Chautauqua usually mirrors Sodus Bay for ice so I can't imagine there isn't safe I've there,  plus I've heard from multiple sources of safe ice. Despite really wanting the tournament to happen, neither Mike nor Craig would give me false info to run the tourney on unsafe ice. Please continue to express your concerns with specific locations so I can verify any potential dangers.
