Not happy with them either.  Just don't be surprised when there is a crowd in that spot next year.  Look at what happened to the bell tower 2 years ago.

Yep. People decided to fish there and enjoy it. Sorry I they took over your lake.

I think it was an honest mistake...typo error...  But why were the photos deleted?  It was a report done correctly on the right forum, and yet they get deleted???  Why???

Season must be slowing down.  The posts change in quality.

We need to focus our anger on Albany for the ban on soft plastic fishing lures that was proposed today.

I'm with Gamehog on this one.  It's one thing to give good reports and accurate conditions.  To call out lesser known access spots and then throw up those types of pictures is over the top. Right or not people are going to see those fish and think that's what they should expect when they come to chautauqua lake and fish for walleyes off "tom's" or anywhere for that matter.  Anyone who fishes walleye on this lake knows that the bite the last week of the season was exceptional this year.  It takes skill and TIME to catch walleye on chautauqua lake all year.  All those posts will do is crowd the lake up with (more) novices next year at the end of the walleye season. Look forward to more beer cans, coffee cups, cig butts on the ice!

What! Who's behind this one? Duck Unlimited again? All soft plastics? First my 10 round clips, now my Mr. Twisters?!  I still think huge walleye pics are a bad idea but this is a REAL problem!

I have been fishing lake Chautauqua for over 25 years.  I made it down there this weekend for the first time in probably 5 years.  Although it was exciting seeing the action, it absolutely amazes me how dinky tiny all the perch were.  The largest fish caught was 8" however i did manage to catch about 80 fish total...avg size 4-6".  seems there needs to be more of a predator to eat these up.  To comment on the walleye fishing above, those are very nice fish and exciting im sure.  Out of the 25 years fishing on that lake, those photos are the single best outing for walleye i have ever seen.  nice job on the catch.

by looking at the bellies on those walleyes, I think its safe to see they have been doing their share of cutting back on the perch population!

Probably won't get up there any more this year but what is the parking and access like at Burtis? Lots of people have posted about fishing there. Never been there.

Parking lot is big enough for 40 vehicles. Water is shallow with lots of weeds. Great place for pan fishing. Snowing like crazy here now.
