Nils Master Centerpoint vs. Non

At the end of ice season last year I bought a Nils 8" with centerpoint and could not get it to drill worth a darn.  I figured that the centerpoint must've come bent or was slightly unbalanced so I got a cutting head without a centerpoint.....Has anyone had any problems similar to those I am encountering or am I a pariah?  Thanks for any input guys!
