-
@)

Pansies need not apply to hit the ice up there. Much respect.

I never said hate I was just curious. I just like making you jealous. Maybe next time you can shoot the moose ( with a rifle that's sighted in). If the harbor in Whitier freezes I hope to test the ice in the salt. I might need a little more than a 10 inch hole
-
I look now and then just for the halibut. ::)
-
dreaming right now
-
I do & envy every post. If my wife would say yes, I'd be there in a heartbeat
-

I missed fishing there so much that I took a trip north from Anchorage just to fish it....and it was worth it!
Fish On!
-
constantly. someday i wanna get up there with team alaska.
-
I look on occasion just to see what you guys are pulling through the hole.
-
I do once in a while. Now, how many Alaskans check the lower 48 boards?
-
I ceheck the Maine board where i am originally from and the NWT board as well
-
I check all the boards from time to time, but only post in PA and ME, Maines the only one I actually visit during winter. I like the NWT and Sask boards a lot to, the walleye and Pike pics from those two make me drool more than any other boards pics. The amount of frozen fishable water in Canada makes me think God is taunting us in the US. Fish porn is good from any state.
-
first time checking it out
-
I do when the temp down here is below -30.
-
I'm in, And the best hard water video's I've seen yet !!

Thank you. If you ever get tired of working in the heat the summers up here are wonderful. That and we have a pretty good wage.
-
Yeah I am looking here. See some nice pics. Looks like there are fish everywhere except for where I look for them.
-
Grandfather was stationed there. Always had an interest in Alaska. Will make it there some day!
-
Was curious if you guys up there ever catch yellow perch. From the looks of this map there are some up there.

Never heard of any being caught up here in the wasilla area.
-
Hell ya
-
I've read of ADFG finding Yellow Perch illegally introduced to one lake on the Kenai Peninsula. Supposedly they were eradicated? I've, thankfully, never heard of anyone catching any though. We have enough problems with other invasive species up here. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the Pike fishing but not if it compromises my hunt for huge natural fish.
"The Yellow Perch was introduced to Alaska in 1995 or 1996 and is in an unnamed lake on the north Kenai Peninsula. The fish collected by the USGS Alaska Department of Fish and Game collected many two to four-year-old fish. The search was in May, 2000, and they are planning to eradicate them (the fish) by poison."
-
I have to admit I am checking out the board, our ice is going away.
ohio
-
I check this board because I miss Alaska so much. I lived in Petersburg for a couple of years as a kid as my dad (Coast Guard)ran the Elderberry buoy tender. I will never forget the fishing, awesome would be an understatement. I got back up there to work in Anchorage in 95 for 8 months. I got to fish eagle river - bird creek - the kenai - seward and a lake in palmer that i have no idea what the name was. Caught a bunch of fish and enjoyed every minute except for the shoulder to shoulder on the kenai, just couldn't get used to that. I hope to get up there again soon.
-
Oh ya Mass checks it out!
-
I check it daily.some day i will get up there
-
Allways check on the Ak board. You guys catch some great fish. Would like to see more pics though. Not complaining just saying.
-
I check it out, I'm also a big fan of the show Alaska state troopers
-
I'd love to visit Alaska some day......

That is an interesting read. This one says yes.

W4lleye, that was interesting. Thank you. I just, for the life of me, can't understand a person's thinking when they introduce a non native species to Alaskan waters. I'ts not as though we don't have some incredible natural resources here in Alaska. The Kenai peninsula in particular.
-
There thinking is they don't know how to catch a game fish, so they will put bass in the lake/pond their camp/cabin is on, so they will have a fish they can catch. Happens all time, look at northern Maine. Usually their from Mass...
-
Not everybody is a MASSHOLE :nono:
-
i check all the boards, if the topic looks interesting! ;D
-
Next year on this date me and the wife will do some icefishing in Alaska it will be our 22nd anniversary.
-
Good deal, congrats and if you travaling this far to ice fish then let me know I can stear you in the right direction. Early is better lake trout fishing, but the days are shorter. Have you ever been up here?
-
Does it ever get cold enough on Prince of Wales island for the lakes to freeze over???
-
I would say no MAYBE some of the alpine lakes but a majority would not freeze
