Solar lights for ice fishing
« on: Mar 12, 2018, 10:14 PM »
Went out last night walleye fishing after dark.    Took the solar lights from the walkway along and put them next to the tip ups.  Used the ice shavings from the holes to push the lights into.  Worked well you could see the tip ups and flags with the solar lights.

;D Been doin this for a couple of years. Works well but in below zero temps my lights sometimes don't last all night. Pick 'em up for about a buck apiece on sale a stores like Walmart and Ho'D. Really needs better batteries but then there goes your cheap price point! Redeeming factor is you can use 'em in your summer landscaping project too.  ;D

What a great cheap idea.  I'll try them in my tip-down spread next year.

WOW - what a great idea.  Thanks for sharing, for sure next year I'll be using them.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
