The season is soon upon us, and I already have the itch! Can't wait for the upcoming hardwater season.

i have lots of other activities that i like however there is something special when walking out on the ice a half hour before dawn and fishing as the day breaks with all the anticipation for the day.

I keep hearing that here in NE PA it's going to be a moderate to average winter with a lot of snow.

After mid-November I'll be hoping for frigid temps. Hoping to get some solid ice early in the year this time!

I remember when I used to dream of 2 inches or so of snow by late October. Now we don't see any until Christmas if we are lucky. I'm just hoping there's enough black ice to go around this year!

I take a long vacation right around Christmas and it is usually just a touch too soon for safe ice. Hoping that this year bucks that trend! Tautog keeps me busy a few days, but ice fishing is better!

I agree. I’ll striper fish and Blackfish until it gets solid. Plenty of distractions until the weather cooperates.

had first frost this week here in western pa,i looked at my stuff in attic just looked lol

now day light savings time a coming sun rise at 7 instead of 8 am boy do them fish hit at first light whoa fish on

My neighbors pool has been skimmed over with ice the whole day here in SWPA. Much appreciation to them for never covering their pool so I can see progress.

The small lake at our VFW in Indiana was iced over pretty much the entire day. Good sign. We need an extended period below freezing particularly at night. Maybe an early start. Lou

Many of the puddles stayed frozen at work today. Especially the ones in the shade. That's a good sign of things to come. I hope

Drove by Lance Pond in Clarks Summit this afternoon and it was completely frozen over. Probably not very thick, but it is a good sign!

My backyard goldfish pond is currently frozen over with about 1". It's the 3rd or 4th time this year. But the forecast says it'll be in the 60's in 2 days.
