What campsite? I’ve never fished the lake but plan on it Friday. Are you referring to Northampton?

Thanks, is that a good area for pike? I’m hoping to catch a nice pike on Friday. Would anyone be willing to point me in a direction? PM me if you’d rather, any insight would be helpful

Fished the lake today one flag, left early wind was brutal.

It's about average.  High compared to last few years,  but a couple of those were drought conditions. If we could keep building ice the way we have been,  it'll get really low. ;)

How has everyone been doing this year on the Sacandaga?

Friend and I were out yesterday afternoon/evening, stayed 30 minutes past dark and couldn't even get a flag!

Overall I've been out 4 times with only 1 fish and a handful of flags.

Dead Sea!  We've even being trying all over the lake.

One decent trip by Sport Island and today same spot no action at all. Kind of frustrating but defiantly not the dead sea, just need to hone my skills.

So what I read doesn't excite me however I know it's fishing and you just need to be there at the right time.   My question we will be fishing by sand island is that area decent or should we take a ride from the house and find a better location.  Amy help would be great thx

There’s a lot of structure just off of sand island, we have fished in that general area and done well for years. A lot of that immediate area will be pretty shallow right now because of how low the water is.

Thanks Goose97, we are basically walking directly to the island from the house we are in so I'm sure we can find a few depth changes to hit.

Looking to make a trip tomorrow and was wondering if I should bring ATV or snowmobile? Is there any snow or slush on the ice? Heading out of the Boardalbin launch.

Ended up taking the snowmobile but what snow was on the ice was hard. Next I’ll bring the wheeler. Thanks for the info. I ended up getting skunked but marked some fish just couldn’t get them to bite.

I was out there Saturday.  Def machines all over from side by sides, sleds to full size trucks.  I foolishly left my sled at home and once things softened up in the afternoon I was kicking myself.  We setup a few sets in shallow for pike and the remainder out deeper for walleye.  Ended up getting my first ever walleye and a couple of small pike.  The larger of the two pike took a like 10" sucker so my hopes were high but it was long and skinny, maybe like 6lbs, the other was about the same size as my walleye.

The lake has come up almost 4 feet this past week. Ice jam went out just above the house and the ice has broken up down to the Northville Bridge....h2l
