Shouldn't have any problems with using a lithium with the showdown.

I ran a lithium Milwaukee battery with my showdown last year for part of the season. For powering the unit it worked fine, lasted longer, zero issues. The weight loss was cool, except the wind could blow the whole unit over, it was almost top heavy and just didn't have the weight to stay where placed on icy snow or vs. any of the big winds coming across the lake. I actually ended to going back to an SLA battery. I got tired of it falling over while hole hoping, but if you sit in a tent all day I'd say go for it.
