BAIT PUCKS
« on: Jan 16, 2015, 07:23 AM »
Any one see the insulated plastic bait containers that look like a hockey puck around  in the local bait shops. Dicks no , Walmart no maybe certain ones. How about cabelas my friend is going down Hamburg today. Just thought of that.

Gander mountain in Dickson city carries them, they have 2 different sizes a large and a smaller one. They work great and save money/bait. If you leave the waxies/mousies in those little plastic containers out in the garage on a cold night they will turn black and die. You keep them in that container with the wood shavings and they stay alive and well for weeks.

Best thing ever for grub. My wife loves them too, since there's no more critters wandering through the laundry basket as a result of those cheap, crushed, bait store containers

just got two in the mail yesterday.  Although, they came one day late because yesterday I had one of those little plastic containers come apart and spill maggots all through my pocket lol.  That was not fun.  But I cant wait to use mine!

I've been using them for a few years now and love them but when I first got them and used them they are air tight and my wax worms died if I kept them in so I drilled small holes in the cap, only prob is they obviously won't float anymore so gotta be careful not to drop them down the hole but they are great

Forgot my pucks yesterday had a pocket full of bait. They work well and keep bait from freezing. Got mine at Cabelas.

I've used all of the above and  they work fine but the pucks are insulated.   If you look on the inside of the lid you can see a teeny hole for air.  The down side I find is you have unscrew it vs a skoal can pops of which is easier.   I've got velcro on the bottom and a place on the side of the tent where I stick it to keep handy.
