11 mile
« on: Jan 15, 2010, 07:52 AM »
Why aren't there any posts on 11 mile? I'm going on saturday and i've only got a little info to go on. Witchers is slow. I'm going to try Stohl point in about 8 feet of water unless i'm advised otherwise.

I had some luck at Stoll a few weeks ago in about 20+ feet of water, fishing a teardrop jig about 8-10 feet down.  The depth is probably about 300 yards out, it's shallow as heck for a long ways out.  It drops from about 12 feet to about 20+ in a span of about 20 yards way out there.  It seems like you can walk forever and still be in less than 10'.  Good luck out there.
Fried eggs, hash browns, and a cup of joe.

We been doing good at Sucker Cove, Howbert Point, Coyote Cove, and Rocking Chair. About 12-16 feet of water. We did great out there this morning. I'll post a report tommorrow.

The fishing has been slow last couple weeks but seems to be picking up.The  Witchers area is still producing for me.Haven't caught anything over 19" so far this year.

I fished Howbert Point with Fly Chucker on 1/16.  It was hot in the afternoon, just OK in the morning.  Fly Chucker picked up the best fish of the day: a 23" bow that had awesome colors - sorry no pix to post.  This seems to be my pike year as I caught a 27" and 29" pike - along with just a couple of decent bows.

To be honest, aside from one trip to Sucker Cove early this year I've been fishing some obscure places on the Mile.  And I'd like to keep them obscure.   ;)

I will say that both shores have been equally productive and the action that I've seen has been pretty consistent so far.

wanted to fish 11 mile this weekend but my fishin buddy lost his will to fish. I had to take the father in law to skaguay so he could catch a fish. Once again i'm wondering about his loyalty to the ice.
