Dunno Todd,

But I've been known to take a few early season death walks.  Will have to do this at Taylor or higher to be first though, Blue Mesa first ice isn't till December.

Hey Jerry, when you coming back over to the Front Range for some hardwater action? Antero should be pretty good this year.

The ''Death walk'' pic has got to be one of the stupidest things I have seen in while brown-time , not a single piece of safety equipment anywhere

Just because you can't see the rope doesn't mean it's not there.  Lighten up, ice there was over 5" thick, new and hard.
Totally safe, 15 feet from shore.  The background just makes it look spooky.

Todd, I gotta hit Antero again this year, missed it last year with all the bad news late in the season.  Let me know if you ever want to hit Blue Mesa for macks, I owe ya one.

Hey Colorado ice nuts.  Nebraska guy here, might be headed to Greely area Thanksgiving weekend.  Will there be any ice anywhere around there by then and will anyone be going out?  Would be a trip to catch some action somewhere new and meet new folks.  Nothing diffinate yet but would love to send the girls shopping or something and go drill a hole somewhere.

Fishing should be the exercise of your skills- and its rewards the places it brings you to

Hey hardh2ofish!

By Thanksgiving you should be able to ice the snake river inlet of Dillon and the ponds at Golden Gate State Park should be iced as well.

Parts of Antero and 11 mile may be safe as well, but it depends on what you think of as safe.

I'm new to Iceshanty and this will be my second season hitting the ice. I can't wait to get out this year. I'm hoping that 11mile will be iced enough for the end of next month...

Last year at Thanksgiving we fished Dillon and had great success with the kokes. Not so sure about Golden Gateat that time, maybe someone can chime in on that.

This weather we are having right now should bring things along nicely! 8)

That's a great picture and I'd be out there with you.

Couple more weeks before Antero and Tarryall have a lid.
