20* this morning and NO wind. Got pretty windy yesterday.
Ice-45, thoughts are with you and the wife. I haven't had the fly rod out in years.
IW, hope you find some fish today, weather doesn't look too bad.
Eddie, snow seems to be going "slowly" which is good, wouldn't want a quick warm-up.
Wife has to go get Covid test this morning for her Tuesday appt in NYC. Just a check-up.
Have a good Friday and be well...h2l

Whopper stopper happy to hear there was no changes to your wife's eye/eyes .When the time comes for the cataract surgery may all go well and it improve her vision. Have a fun day snowshoeing with your SIL.
SpitzoMT may today not be to hectic at your work place. have a good weekend.
Hunts2long may your wife test negative for Covid and get a good report at Tuesday's check up.
Wallyworld may the lack of a morning post mean you and Mr.WW are fishing today and we will see a report toniht or tomorrow morning.
Capt.Jim,UFCreel some time since either of you has posted may all be good with each of you and your families.

Have a good friday stay safe and healthy. Best to all fishing today and over the weekend.

fisher-45 not bad, I managed to remember to put some cheddar cheese on top at the end of baking.  Between me and the roommate not much left.  Next will be the tuna one.  or even fresh smoked ribs I have in the smoker now.

                 Good morning ER's,
It's 27* and clear at the moment. Snow then rain is the weather for the day. ::)
Marv........Sorry you didn't make it to "The Shack" for your snowshoeing, if you had you would have probably found some sheds.
Wally.......I hate losing post, you spend all that time and then poof they're gone. :cookoo: :%$#!: Gremlins I say Gremlins. :roflmao:
Steve......It was warm here as well but not warm enough to melt a lot of snow at least in the shade.
H2l.........That's a new one on me, having to get tested just for a follow up appointment. :o
Eddie......I hope you can get some ice time in this weekend. :flex: The governor is ever changing visitation plans, I hope you can get to visit
your mom soon, it's been a long time. The residents must be going crazy at this point.  :(
I-45 .......I hope your wife is on the mend and doing good.
Yesterday was a beautiful day out on the ice, it was warm in the sun but not enough to melt any ice. I landed 5 Lakers all short and lost a keeper
at the hole, I know everyone says that but I do have a witness, my #3 son was there gaff in hand ready to help. Wally you should come this way to fish LG
ice conditions were perfect. At least the northern half of the south end and north of that, where it was the new ice. 9" of good ice.

I hope everyone has a good Saturday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

26* and another inch of snow, warming up later today with some rain so they say.
I got my 1st shot yesterday. I wasn't on a list but had been trying and the drug store called and said come on over.
WS, they are having a good season for sure.
IW, the wife has been tested at least 5 times. Whenever we have to go to NYC she has to have had a "neg" test within 5 days of her visit. At least now they allow for the test to be done up here. Twice we had to go down to the city for it. They do call the "shots" on what can and can't be done.
Lots of trucks going North this morning with sleds behind them.
WW, conditions here aren't very good out on the lake either.
Wife and I are going to meet Lindsay for breakfast this morning but I will check the weather and the roads first before we head out. Weather maps looks like we are right on the cutoff line.
Have a good day and be well....h2l

Morning all,

IW.....glad you had a good day on the ice, sorry you didn't land the one keeper  :(

IF45....great news on the stimulator, hope it does the trick

WS.....yep, Homer gets it   :roflmao:  that's one HUGE fish, congrats to Lana   :o   :flex:

Eddie....good luck if you're venturing out this weekend  :icefish:  hip waders might be a good idea  ;)2

IFF.....hope the room mate is working out well   ;)  guess the roller coaster ride continues out there

A fresh coating of snow on the ground, supposed to be near 50* later today  ::)  sure wish it would either be winter or be spring

Have a good day. Stay safe, stay healthy.

H2L....think I'd be more concerned with getting tested AFTER being in NYC   enjoy your breakfast

Good morning everyone

+30 looks like a little snow tonight. Next week the guessers are saying 40's for the week.

IW....Beautiful picture! Losing them at the hole :%$#!: The girls always try to to at least touch them, then the call it a quick release ;D

Eddie... Best of luck if getting some ice time :icefish: Hope you receive some good news about visitations

WW....Enjoy the +50   I bet Lana was pretty excited with the monster.

h2l... Hope you don't have any reactions to the shot

Good Morning Everyone,
30* and windy with a fresh coating of snow here also, some freezing drizzle now will probably turn to rain soon, high of 45.

Marv... thanks for sharing the sturgeon update, congrats to Lana taking the big fish position and putting the pressure on the boys!!!  Safe travels and a good time snowshoeing today at the shack!
Wally...sorry you lost your post yesterday, there’s a whole bunch of them floating around somewhere!  :%$#!:  Agreed on the weather...the conditions on the lakes here  stink at the moment, hopefully they’ll get better, still a good amount of ice left.
H2...enjoy your breakfast with Lindsay, congrats on your first shot, hopefully no side effects.
Jeff...congrats on the fishing and thanks for the picture...glad you got into some lakers with your son, awesome!   That one that came unbuttoned at the hole will be waiting for you... :flex:
Steve...if we get the rain they say is coming, I might just see my rooftop this week!  ;D  How’s everything going at the store lately?

No fishing today, we have the grandchildren here for the weekend. Might do an early morning short trip tomorrow though and travel light weather permitting...a fish fry was requested but my freezer is empty, lol....Doh!
Cawfee’s still on if anyone needs a refill...
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

Good Saturday Morning To Ya All !!

5° here at the house this morning with partly cloudy skies. A Winter Weather Advisory is still active until 1100 today. So far we've only got about an inch of the forecasted 4 inches of snow. That's good tho, because I'm tired of snow already. Unfortunately, I know the worst is yet to come when the transition from winter to spring is upon us. Can look forward to lots of the wet heavy stuff then haha !!

Our road to the house finally got cleaned up a bit. They came in with a Bobcat & stacked the snow about 10 feet off the edge on the south side of it. The first half mile of the dirt road gets drifted pretty bad. Myself & a couple others keep it plowed, but it builds up so much that it eventually needs to be moved away from the edge of the road.

Time to take in some coffee & see what's in store for the day. Everyone have a great day & STAY SAFE N' HEALTHY !!!!!

Good day had a period of snow early this morning changed to a light rain like Wallyworld the high temperature for the day may reach fifty degrees.Already seeing patches of bare ground from the rain and warmer temperatures the past few days.  Talked with my sister soon it will be one year the she has worked from home.
Ice Wanderer glad you had a good day fishing with son#3 sorry you lost a legal size laker at the hole.
Hunts2long may the two of you and Lindsay have had a nice breakfast.
Wallyworld the changing from Winter to Spring weather is a tricky time period I remember a few good snowfalls and one blizzard in march.
Eddie we are all trying not to submit to "Covid-Fatigue " at the store as the pandemic continues and wears on everyone mentally. We have the store decorated for ST.Patricks day the corned reef and fresh cabbage sales should start the week of March 7 TH and then the change to Easter and Passover. Some Easter and Passover items have already arrived at the store. Have a nice weekend with the grandchildren. may the weather allow you to fish tomorrow.
Whopper Stopper have fun at the shack. may you and the girls find a few shed antlers.
SpitzoMT hope the snowfall amount stays low for you from this storm. Good to hear you now have the snow banks pushed back on the road the leads to your home.
Fish/hunt4ever hope you had a good work week. May you find time to fish this weekend.

Have a good Saturday ,stay healthy and safe.

Good evening everyone

Got back from five hours of snowshoeing, had a fun time. Lots of tracks but couldn't find a shed. Did find a dead porcupine laying out in the woods, no idea what got a hold of it.

I came home and decided to work on a couple pines being it is so nice out. I finished those and proceeded to get the brush burnt. We are supposed to get 2-3" of snow late tonight so am glad to be done with them.

I just got Day 15 sturgeon spearing tallies. 1 more day and the game is over. Again, no pictures so I will try and find some.

Hope you all have a good evening  Stay safe and stay healthy.

            Good morning ER's,
It's 30* and partly cloudy here on my hill. ::)
Eddie.......I hope you are out trying to fill that freezer.
Marv........I;m glad you had a good outing at "The Shack". Were their any tracks other than the Porcupine's or did it get attacked
some where else and made it to where you found it? ??? Good thing you got the pines cleaned up and brush burned before it snowed. :flex:
Wally.......My friend Jon messaged me that this week looks windy, 15+ mph. :cookoo: :%$#!:  I need to find a spot in close to the west side
of the lake to try and block the wind a little. I hope you can get out.
Steve......I think you will find that a lot of people working from home will be doing it for a long time. Employers are finding productivity is up
and they won't have the expense of having an office to pay rent on.
Fish.......The wind does play havoc with the fishing, to me it's not a lot of fun when the wind is blowing a gale. :%$#!:
Spitzo....I heard the same thing from a guy in passing, he's had enough winter, problem is March can produce a lot of snow. In March of
2001 we had 7 feet of snow.  :o
H2l.......I hope you are not experiencing any side effects from your shot, I've heard that a lot of people have some issue from the 2nd Shot
Not much going on today, my wife leaves for her mother's this morning and will be there the week. Her mother gets her 1st shot on Tuesday an
next Saturday is her mother's 94th birthday. My wife wants me to go out for that.
It's getting crazy on Lake George, I think that more people are fishing this year because of the pandemic. Parking is becoming a nightmare, people
are parking where they shouldn't and getting tickets. I've never seen it like this. ??? ??? ??? ???
I hope everyone has a good Sunday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

Good Morning ER's hope everyone is doing well. Mason hope your outing goes well. IW wishing you a good outing as well. I went out yesterday looking for a toothy critter with a IS member but did not score. A few people caught a couple but not the legal 40 inch size. The striped kitty returns and after getting back the cat from across the road seemed very interested in my minnows. Maybe another outing today some place as ice is still thick with landings still holding.

H2L....hope the alleys treat you well tonight   ;D  safe travels to NYC

IW....those winds sure can ruin a day on the ice  :%$#!:  safe travels to MrsIW

WS.....glad you got your trimming/burning done ahead of the next round of snow  :flex:

MrC....it may be a hard transition for some when/if they have to return to "the office" after all this time working from home  :-\

Good Morning Everyone, 30*here and cloudy. My wife is home today. She is feeling good. My wife had found a couple of kittens for me for Christmas. Finally able to come home. Woman said we had first pick but we are getting one today. She gave most of the litter away. Will be interesting to see how Mr Dickens handles it. We did have a kitty before.

WallyWorld, Hopefully the woodchuck doesn’t hang around to long.

Hunts2long, Hope your headache is better. Good Luck at bowling tonight. Prayers for your wife appointment tomorrow.

Old Goat, Good luck today on the ice.

Ice Wanderer, Thats great news your wife’s mother is getting her first shot. Good luck if you go out on the ice today.

Mason Eddie, Good luck on the ice today. May you catch plenty of panfish.

Whopper Stopper, Thank you for the Sturgeon reports. Hope you have a good day today.

I hope everyone has a great day and a safe one. Tight lines to those on the water. God Bless

Good morning everyone

33 staying steady at 33 most of the day. The rain snow mix started around 4am. We are looking at only a couple inches before it's out of here. The nice thing is anything we have will melt by Wednesday.

Dom... It very well could have been a fisher at work, I saw a couple of them during bow season. Most of the tracks around the porky had settled/melted, I couldn't make anything out. There were deer tracks walking over to check it out, that also made it hard to distinguish any old tracks.

Eddie.... Hope you have success today :icefish: Maybe you will have some left over cold fish in the mix tomorrow morning

IW....  That was the reason I stopped fishing this winter, the lakes were absolutely nuts 7 days a week :cookoo: When I go a couple miles off grid to a lake to check it out and I find 20 people in the only hole, I said they can keep it. When I took Shamu off from where I had it there were 3 other houses. When I wanted to put it back out, there were 16 houses ???

WW....This coming week I suspect we will be seeing critters wandering around. Yesterday there were 5-6 raccoons smudged on the roads.

h2l....Ice the arm and get ready for a big night at bowling

45.... Enjoy the new additions

Hope everyone has a good day no matter whats on the agenda  Stay safe and stay healthy.

Well came off the ice early this morning was home before lunch but today is my BIL birthday we did a celebration Friday night but made it for the lunch today. Caught three fish and missed one other one and had a few flags but then died today after the sun came up. Was nice being out before the rest of the month gets out of hand with work but hopefully pay off one loan this year and the next one next and have everything done and debt free if all works out. Stay safe everyone and have a great end of the weekend and beginning of the work week or just another day off.

Good evening everyone

Fish.....Congrats on a fun outing. Best of luck getting your plans to come together

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday

The last and final Spearing report came in. I hope those that were interested in it had fun following along. I don't know why the pictures stopped coming in, but in the coming days if I see anything of interest I will post them.

Stay safe and stay healthy.
