Nov 14th ice check
« on: Nov 13, 2010, 09:55 AM »
I'm driving up to Tarryal tommorro to see how the ice is coming along. Last year Tarryal had 6 inches of ice when Antero had 3 inches. Will report here tommorro evening.

Yeah, let us know! I fished Tarryall for my first trip last season and it was far ahead of Antero and Elevenmile for ice.

Ice at tarryal definately a little shady but by next friday (26th) it should be good enough to fish without too much butt pucker. Met I guy that lives up there and he'll be calling me mid next week with a report and if its good im going up friday. Too much nice weather in colorado during the daytime hours!  :-\

This is definitely some good news.  It will give me a chance to drown some of the waterdogs that I've been nursing along these last few weeks...

Last year I fished Antero at 2.5 inches and it was pretty scary. We decided to drive to Tarryal and just check the ice and found 5 to 6 inches of ice. The ice wasn't as clear as Antero but we felt safer there and caught a ton of fish. Tarryal definitely freezes first!

Ice on! Still some open spots and some thin places near shore. Warm weather is doing funny things to the ice. Drilled a hole that measured 6 inches deep. One guy out on the ice fishing. Going up with the guys next Friday. Antero will be ice on soon!  ;D

Cool.  The cold weather this week should firm it up even more.  Although i hear there is rain in the forecast for the weekend.  Rain....in the mountains in November?  Wierd.

I'm good with Tarryall as a shakedown for 2010.  Willing trout with the possibility of pike - works for me.
