Title: best day fishing ever
Post by: fire-n-ice on Jan 26, 2010, 10:04 PM
Today I had the best day fishing I think i've ever had. The biggest and most brook trout i"ve ever caught. 15+ brookies. Football rainbows and the prettiest browns I ever layed eyes on. All of them nice size fish! YAHOOOOOO! ;D(http://i987.photobucket.com/albums/ae358/jfirebaugh/fishin008-2.jpg)

The elevation there is 9950. We caught so many fish and I took so many pictures that I ran out of batteries so I guess I didn't get one picture of the browns. Remember next time to keep the camera close and warm cause the batteries don't like the cold. I hope I get to go there again soon!

You gotta try Gulp Alive 1in. fish fry baits. My new favorite! Looks like a ratso tail.

The date stamp on the camera changes every time you shut the camera off. Thats why the wife gave it to me for fishin' and huntin'!

Those are great pics of some beautiful fish.  I don't care what the time/date stamp says.....man, some of you guys need to get out of the house and quit pickin' every post apart.

Like Momma used to say, if you can't say anything nice, then shut the he11 up already.

Geesh.

Thanks for posting the pics!!

I've been using the Gulp baits for the last three years with great success so I tried a jar of those 1" fish fry this year.  They do look like Ratso tails and I thought they would be irresistible.  However, after 13 trips to the ice this year, I finally caught one trout using that bait one my last trip.  I don't get it because I think that they look great.  I still find the Gulp earthworms (the small ones), waxworms and mealworms to prroduce fish more consistently.  I'm glad that the 1" fish fry worked for you that day and I'll keep giving them a try - they look too good not to catch fish.

Nice fish again!

The lake I was fishing at is private. As much as I would love for everyone to get to catch fish like that I can't tell you where. I got to fish there because my brothers parents work for the land owner. I had to promise them that I wouldn't tell anyone. I know posting pictures from my trip and not telling anyone where is pretty lame but I thought everyone would enjoy them. sorry :-\

I grew up in Colorado, but now live and ice fish in Maine.  I love looking to see how the boys back in CO are doing though.  And I love getting back to fish and hunt every chance I get.  If anyone up here posted (on the web) where they caught those fish, they would be either stupid or MR (sorry for all those MR's).  Don't apologize dude.  People are so tight lipped up here, you have no choice but to get out and fish to find the hot spots.  Nice fish man!!
