spud bar
« on: Dec 03, 2007, 07:10 PM »
I know this doesnt go here, but I wanted all the ice shanty brains in on this.  Im looking for a hand held spud bar, or even the 4 ft one.  I know jiffy makes two different sizes, but I cant FIND THEM ANYWHERE.  Theyre great for early ice and cleaning out holes.  Im really looking for the smaller one, but will take any leads I can get.

Thanks
E

I usually go to my local welding shop and get a custom one made for only 30$ or so.

Best one I ever used was an Eskimo brand two-piece I bought at Sportsmans Warehouse for $34.95. This thing will go through ice with nearly the speed of a hand auger.

Spend the $ once and get the breakdown Jiffy or even the Ardisam, you wont regret it.  With the Jiffy chisel,  don't even bother with the power auger until 7-8" now.  Just touch it up w/ a flat file at the start of each season.  Not a jigger though.
