2X on the guitar string.  I like the "G" string, take the outer wrapped wire off.

I prefer the 0.014" guitar wire for panfish jigs and small spoons.  I have a picture and "how to" sketch, but I'll be darned if I can figure out how to post it!

The small bead is the best visual indicator there is, especially for the "suck-in" bite where it very slowly goes down.  Fl orange is the best color for all open and in-shanty backgrounds.  The 4" overhang may seem excessive, but this allows all kinds of telltale "takes" without alerting the fish.  Also works great in jigging up from the bottom - detects bites during your jigging routine.  Hope this helps!

I've taken the spring out of push pens before and stretched it out...... Leave 2-3 curls at the end of the spring for the line to go through.  Attached it to the rod and she's game on... Works pretty great and super cheap.

you can also use that guitar string springbobber and put it through a pencil eraser and mount that on your rod if you wanted it to be adjustable.
