My friends and I managed about 15 trips on the ice this year.  Conditions weren't always the best, but everyone managed to stay above water and no surprise trips to the emergency room.  We never caught a monster but managed to catch fish on about 13 of the 15 trips.  This is their second ice season, and the point is they have fun doing it.  Breaking in new fisherman is always fun and reminds you of why you go in the first place.  If you're not having fun, then you are doing it wrong.  Last year they used my hand me downs and this year they became fully equipped with all their own stuff.  Now we have the opening of soft water fishing to look forward to on April 1st and we will see how that goes.

Both skunk days were on Swan lake.  I think it may be cursed or something.
