Top Perch Ice Fishing Jig

What is your top "go to" jig for perch in the Helena area?

Add color, size and what bait you tip them with, too.

I got this one last year on Canyon Ferry!

I’m thinking that a perch caught like that…I wouldn’t post I caught it on a certain body of water. And, don’t really need the “ go to” lures info from anyone else. Nice perch by the way!!😎

In my experience with Perch,  the jig isn't the issue.  But I will say that my best rig is a plain Aberdeen hook with a minnow or a Tungsten gold in color with Wigglers ( my #1 go to). That's all I use.

Nice perch and my go-to jig is a small Chubby Darter in "Perch", but at least around here, perch are rarely discerning... I would have released that perch, it must have a million eggs in it alone... But to each their own.

Most my perch are caught on accident targeting other species but do pretty good on 3 to 4mm jigs with little atom micro nuggies and wedgies.

Nice, 12 years on here and you haven't contributed much, pretty much the pot calling the kettle black. I did look at yours posts, so I know that you haven't helped, but can bet you've used everyone else's info for your own benefit.

Here's my go-to perch jig anywhere I go. Works 95% of the time.  1/8 0z. silver/ green kasty tipped with a perch eye.

Over the years, I've seen very little love given to the Ratfinkee and Wolfinkee, the latter being the tungsten version of the former.  They're compact, quite versatile, and simply irresistible to a variety of species.

Touche sir.  I'll admit, i switch to spoons like a small kastmaster, hali, tingler, etc. when basin fishing for deeper perch.

I have had decent luck with the Lindy Perch Talker tipped with maggots. Once you have a school on yer spot it doesn't seem to matter that much. I do like the tungsten jigs for getting back down a bit quicker.

By the way, I have had a lot of success on Buckshot jigs in perch and other colors.

Late to the party, but for deeper perch love the tungsten Chekai in 40-50ft, and the ratso for shallow perch. Hali jigs, Swedish pimples, and small slender spoons can also kick butt if they are on an aggressive feed. The most fun I’ve had with a bait though has been on super aggressive fish where they will smack a ripping rap or jigging rap. Super hard hits that I had no idea a perch could produce.
