Reel the fish in keeping steady pressure so he wont come off.

Reel it in, man! That's the fun part!
What do you think the reel is for?

Ok, you take the rod, put it in a rod holder that you have on your quad, get in, AND FLOOR IT! FISH ON!  :woot:
Reel it in, that's the only way to do it... ;)

If I'm shallow water fishing for pans, I raise the rod high above my head, and handline them in.  No need to fiddle with depth when it goes back down again.

Reel in and keep enough pressure to keep the slack out of the line.

what if you hook a big crappie or bluegill and it goes on a run when your handlining it, and you don't feel it and it breaks your 1 lb. test line?
I personally reel them in... easier, more efficient, and more fun!

Keep pressure on the fish!
If that doesn't work, well kid, you need a new setup... :-\

should be fine. Those bigger perch and crappie hit light though, so make sure you thumb the line unless that is a supersensitive rod!

Yes, that will work, although you may want to get an ultralight rod for the panfish in the future if you get the opportunity. But that rod will definately work for all of those species ;)
