music?? no thanks! I hope you guys use earphones or at least keep it down.
i use a speaker and is loud when i want it to be.
i don't see any one on ice and the home owners have their storm windows shut, so why would you worry how i listen to music?
if i am first on ice, same thing.
if am not and others are fishing in a group like i hope we do, i ask if they care to hear some music before i play it. no problem.
music calls in fish just like the fish whistle does. the louder the better!

The last song I hear on the car radio,it's in my head all day. I hate that.

This made me laugh. This year on my way out to the woods opening day of deer hunting I heard "Strange" by Reba McEntire. One of the worst days sitting in the woods ever.

I don't care as long as I do hear cell phones going off. I'm out there to enjoy the day.

I like metal and all kinds of other music but when I'm fishing its country. Not that fake stuff they play on the radio or TV but some good outlaw country. Hank 3 and Whitey Morgan

so most people are using power augers and ripping around on snow mobiles and atvs. does that have less of an affect of fish than music.

Bingo! Years ago I was whipping one of my daughters around on her sled. Some old codgers were complaining real loud about her squeals of joy sliding all over the ice. I ran and let her go one time and it hit a buddy's tip up and set it off. He calmly walked over and reset it. As he turned around to come back. The tip up flag pops. Yep an almost 40 inch pike nailed it. After that the old codgers wanted me to take the kid on her sled around their tip ups. Didn't happen.

Wow, a lot of fellow metalheads on here.  \m/(--)\m/

It depends for me. Most days I enjoy the quiet on the lake, other days I'll throw one earbud in. I like to be aware of my surroundings, especially on lakes with heavy snowmobile usage.

I like old thrash, heavy metal, hard rock. Some older country, Hank 3 is Awesome. This new pop country sucks.
Slayer, anthrax, megadeth, Suicidal Tendencies, Motorhead, Testemant, Overkill, can't forget the good ol' boys Johnny Cash, Merle Haggerd, No Show George Jones. Just to name a few.

I play bass and guitar, so I love music. But when I'm outdoors, that's my time to get away from it all. Nothing quite like the quiet serenity of a frozen lake.

But there is nothing quite like Slayer to motivate you to drill a $#;!  load of holes. lol

I prefer quiet.

The reel drag screaming is always good.      ;)2

And
             FLAG !

It's easy to maintain with a double-tap of 40's into the ice.       :woot: :callcops:
