Keeping Spikes Alive
« on: Mar 09, 2021, 11:12 AM »
I found a little trick for spikes which die faster when they get air. I keep them in my refrigerator in an air tight container. They come in double plastic bags, but watch out; if they get out they will crawl all over your ref.
I order bulk amounts of spikes and waxworms from JA-DABAIT.COM and they are a very reliable and family owned company in WI. They have directions on their website how to keep your bait alive.

Yep double bag with no air.but i keep mine in a large bait puck and change out the bedding a few times throughout the year.my spikes were from last year and still alive.see if i can keep them another year.keep them really cold without freezing them also helps.

I just buy the $4 dollar hockey pucks and hope they last in the car or on the porch during the season.
