for me it mite be to late.  all the ice is completly gone in our area and im loosing the ice fishing urge!!

c.r.rick you must be from down here around Des Moines too.  NO ICE!  I had some great spots picked out for hard water (aquabi, maffitt, easter, west lake, 3 mile, badger, fort des moines) and only got to fish 2 of them.  Me and a buddy are going to Brushy this weekend.  Went to Cornilia 2 weeks ago and got skunked.  should make 2-3" this week with the cold.  I asume it's still safe?  Never been there.  I set my shack up a few weeks ago and mice had chewed about 20 holes in it you could stick your head through!   What good are these freakin' ditch tigers anyway if they are not going to catch mice.   Joys of country living!   Anyway.  I'll be the guy in a Shapell 3000 with a half a roll of duct tape on it at Brushy this weekend.  Can't miss my shack. Lots of red neck chrome.       14 years old and still standing.  I'm glad the cold is back!

im actually form the cedar rapids area and we are out of ice too.  im probaly going to the mississippi with the boat unless i can talk the guys into going up north again.  toothfish is the man to talk to about brushy he should be heading up there this weekend.  you going up there this weekend tooth?

I'm thinking about it. May be tied up Sat.but open for Sunday fishing.  I was also thinking of getting on a pond in Guthrie county...10" gills. Have to wait and see if there's ice that far south. Brushy is the place if ice isn't safe in Guthrie

sounds good.       so how thick is the ice on brushy anyways?  havent been there all year.  thinking of going this weekend if i dont take the boat out.  where has the best luck been this year up there???

Haven't been there since Sunday the 29th of Jan. Ice was just fine then.... 6" and up around the island. More people fish the north end but I like the south .
